Just after joining M9 at Bridge of Allen today around 15:15 heading south, sitting behind a white van leaving maybe 2-1/2 car lengths in from some "tube" with a Y plate silver Subaru came down the inside lane and violently turned right into my lane. Had I not slammed my brakes on we would have made contact forward of the rear wheels. Just avoided a new front on my GT3. My wife was my passenger and was feeling sickly at the time so I contained my anger and ignored the idiot in front. Makes my blood boil, I can imagine him at the bar tonight explaining his conquest. You can only imagine with the complete lack of grey matter he will end up upside down in a field somewhere!

Approx 65 mph as I was speed matched to the white van and he was slowly passing a lorry if my memory serves me correctly

Are you sure about that 2.5 car lengths then? That is less than a 1s gap.

Still doesn't excuse aggressive lane changing of course.

To be honest I could not be exactly sure, I was what I perceived to be a safe distance as I had enough field of view to know there was some time before the van would pull in. With that in mind yes it would be much more than 3 car lengths, as you can imagine there is no need for me to sit close as I hate to pepper the front of my car with stone chips and I can accelerate quickly when the time comes.

The incident was extremely close to an accident due to a fool trying to prove some point although the only point I understood was how much of a clown he was.

Funny uphill slip that, a dual lane'er, a bit "odd" to say the least as you are left sorting out your joining priority at the same time as deciding to give way to the M way traffic with very little rearwards view until you are over the hill and on top of the actual junction...I think you were in his blind spot and he failed to look over his shoulder...quite close to my flavour of the moment being the tts in cars who accelerate and block you forcing you to brake after you indicate your intention to pull out for a number of seconds as you close on slower traffic__WHY? It's all about traffic flow, give and take whilst all make progress...

This happened going towards Stirling so away from the junction, we had joined the motorway 1/2 mile back
