A solid tone upon selecting reverse, which only lasts a few seconds is a fairly standard warning that a sensor has failed. If this is the case, leave it in reverse (engine off, ignition on) and get your ear right next to each of the sensors - the working ones should be making a tick-tick-tick sound (kind of like a spark plug firing).

Sounds like a short circuit. I understand that the sensors are connected to the reversing lights so check the wiring.

I'd suggest re-connecting them and see how many (if any) are working, as per my previous post.

Did you get anywhere with this issue?

I've changed by OEM parking sensors for better looking ones, and the engineer needs to know where the OEM buzzer is so he can disconnect it. Any ideas?

You'd be better to have the car plugged in to a Porsche tester so that it can tell the car there aren't any fitted - easier too, just a few button presses and it's sorted.

Thanks Mr Goose.

Will that work even with a 2000 996 carrera?
