I need to get Mrs Imp to Charing Cross Hospital for 9am on Thursday from Reading. The hospital is just south of the flyover for those who don't know it. Can anyone tell me what the traffic along the A4 at the moment now they've partially reopened the flyover?

The traffic is pretty unpleasant. They have split the road in 2 and the righthand lane goes up over the flyover through a 6'6 width barrier. All other vehicles have to come off at H/smith meaning that the A4 gets blocked by the departing traffic. The queue jumpers add to the headache.

Leave plenty of time or if you know the area well, it is possible to go past H/smith to the north and then wiggle your way south and pop out behind the hospital.

Rather you than me.

Been through it a couple of times. Factor in an additional ten minutes perhaps.

Went through at around 9AM last Tuesday and had about 2-3 minutes delay. I've had far worse delays when the flyover has been open.

My experience too. However I guess it all depends on the day.

Nice bit of easy overtime for the two officers sitting in those gas guzzling 4x4s that the mayor wants off the road at each side of the bridge...
A fiesta or astra would be just as good.

Or
Whats wrong with a sharp eyed cheap immigrant labour operating a camera in some plush council office issuing FPN for offenders

Though to be fair the gas guzzlers can pull broken down cars off the bridge better than astra's can!!! wink

So in summary it's a bit variable then, I think I'll just go early and get a coffee if we're early. Thanks all.

I take it all back BTW: last night was Hell. I sat patiently on the outside lane (eastbound) for almost 40 mins while half of London tried to 'filter' at the cones.

Will be going under the flyover from Fulham direction in the 10 tonner soon.
Heading for the Bush.

A quick check on work activity as I pass the compounds will be made.

Then report back to the TVSAS smile

Well lots of vehicles parked in the compounds.
Some glum looking security tard freezing his gonads off - proper village.
The portals are open so I guess workman - survey teams must be up inside
the structure.

One bridge support has been boarded over.
So maybe some concrete repairs bing done away from view

Traffic arounds the one way system flowing as normal
No additional delays as of midday smile
