I'm certainly no expert but here's my two pence;

Some interesting subjects and colours and your set up certainly seems to be up to the job. For me the main thing that is letting the shots down is the composition.
Try and avoid centralising the main focal point and I feel that most pictures containing action should include more of what is going on around (do take them too close or zoomed in) this will help set the scene and the viewer can get a better understanding of the environment and atmosphere.

Keep at it though!

yeah pretty much all of these were taken up very close.
