USS Intrepid / USS Growler

Pictures from a recent trip to the USS Intrepid and USS Growler in NYC.
Intrepid (CV11) fought in the pacific in WWII, Vietnam and was later used as a search/recovery ship for space missions. She was decommissioned in 1974 and has been a museum since 1982.
Growler was an early cruise missile submarine, prior to polaris missile boats. Built in '58 and decommissioned in 1964 - mainly due to the polaris boats being much better she sat around rusting for many years until the museum got hold of her in the late 80s.
$20 to get in was a bargain, after wandering around the Queen Mary a few years ago I was really impressed by the efforts being made with Intrepid, its a wonderful ship.
I *think* I've ID'd the planes correctly, but I'm sure Eric will correct me if I got it wrong

It was an interesting trip, both ships are well presented, they spent a huge amount of money in 2006-2008 renovating Intrepid (wiki reports $100m). There are some decks you can't get to, we passed a sealed off hatch that went down to another deck and you could see that it hadn't been re-painted and looked a little scruffy. It'd be awesome if they could open up more of her.
I didn't go in to them but on hanger deck there are theatres fore and aft that presumably show news reels and the like of her in action.
I did a bit of searching and found a few photos of the engine room here : http://s964.photobucket.com/albums/ae124/funnytheb... In one of them there is a guide in the same shirt/cap so I'm pretty sure its the same ship.
Her sister ship, Yorktown is also a museum over in South Carolina. I did see a picture of an access shaft that everyone seems to throw coins in to, so maybe she is a little more open.
