Caught site of what I guess is an RN Frigate in the Docklands ( not on the Thames ) area. Was just wondering which and why ?

HMS Liverpool I believe - as per London Tonight yesterday evening.
As to why - would you leave something that valuable in Liverpool :-D

I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon on board the new German Corvette Braunschweig, which was moored at the docklands ExCeL centre a few months back. It has an amazing amount of fire-power for such a small boat. My colleague was an old sea-mate of the Captain. That's the Captain on the left. Rather like policemen, they seem to be getting younger!

With their limitless supply of free booze, things got a bit hazy by night time.

He had to navigate the ship out of the dock, down the Thames and back across the North Sea to Germany at lunchtime the next day. I was in no fit state to do anything!

This is HMS Liverpool arriving on Thursday evening with a little assistance

Still looks quite impressive for an "old lady"

This beauty is also moored in West India Dock, the Christina O, which you can hire for the reasonable sum of (from) 40,000 Euro per day!

Whipround anyone?

Mr B, Long time ago and don't know whether you are still interested, but I have that article on the Light Car Company Lightning including pictures of the chassis and a test run minus the bodywork!
