On more than one occasion I've came back mid-ticket to be told 'on you go'.

I bribed one in edinburgh once, with Lockets.
She (quite tidy!) had a bad cold and a croaky voice, I was parked on a single yellow, doing work in a property opposite.
At first she said I'd need to move after unloading, but then I gave her a locket or two and she said, "oh, just stay there, I'll be back in an hour or so, so you're fine till then".

Stayed there all day, no problem.

Disagree - they've all got good sides ,all round the British isles ( but I'm talking about YE OLDE YELLOW PERIL)-I've found that if you be nice ( most folk are nasty) -something they don't get often ,and it throws them , (like seeing a BIB on your tail and stopping to ask for directions)-into "must help the public mode"
