V8S Home Servicing Parts
Discussion
quick one (hopefully)
I'm going to service my V8S for the first time (only had it 6 months) before putting it back on road after being garaged during the winter.
Was going to follow the full service guide in back of the Steve Heath book and see I need the following parts:

Any comments? It says its for Rover V8 for Chim and Griff but surely V8S too?
Cheers

Go to your local motorfactor and buy eight NGK B7ECS plugs and a FRAM PH5443 or equivalent oil filter. Don't forget the oil to go with it. Your motorfactor should also be able to supply a 'Range Rover Classic V8' sump plug washer for 50p or so. The air filter is washable.
Remember that there's more to a service than replacing the consumables. If you're doing it yourself, make sure you do it properly.

thanks for reply. I'll see if I can find those items local then as suggested. I was quoted £480 for a full service at a TVR specialist garage not too far from me. Not really wanting to fork that out right now when I can do replacements myself.
As you say, there's more to it than that such as all the checks and tests carried out and obviously the expertise and knowledge but if I follow the service guide in the bible I shouldn't be too far out I think..
