I remember this being for sale last year.
I thought that S2 and S3 chassis were different though.
Skint at the moment otherwise I would be tempted.

Cheers

I think the S3 chassis has a removable tube to facilitate a clutch change without taking the engine out. This is fixed on the S2. I'm not sure if there are also differences to the rear suspension top mount positions too.

There are several small differences between the S2 chassis and the S3 chassis. I know because I bought a S3 chassis for my S2 body and it has had to be slightly modified. If I had known I would not have got into it. From the pics it looks like an S3 chassis because there are bolt down points to the top of the chassis which would be under the dash. I believe these were added to the S3 to reduce skuttle shake. The main difference between the S2 & S3 chassis (which I have found to date - body still not fully fitted) is that the rear uprights are at different inclines and heights. The later chassis holding the rear struts at a more inclined angle to reducing the nose rising and diving on hard acceleration or braking. The chassis does look in reasonable condition though.

Hi all, I have an S2 with the removable tube thingy, although it's not tube it's preessed sheet/plate.

Mine must be an S2.5 lol.

I have an S3 that requires chassis work, so will modify where required and prepare this chassis for my car and replace everything.

I will keep you all updated. By the way, are their any recommended modifications one can make to the chassis whilst it is at this stage?

Isn't this going to cause a problem at the next MoT when the VIN will be different to the V5C?
