Where are you flying from? What sort of budget? Self catering or fully catered?

If you're after a fully catered chalet, usually ski door to door stuff, then I can't recommend Silver Ski highly enough. One of the best ski holidays I've had, in one of the best chalets, with the best staff and the best food and the closest to the pistes. However, they only fly from Gatwick and that's of no use to me living up in Glasgow.

If you're talking about Chamonix, the best resource is the valley is this:

Try Emailing some of the contacts, take it you're Easyjet from Glasgow to Geneva, then Chamexpress transfer.

PS The snow is fantastic, long weekend (again) from Friday!

Agree with all your points about SS but be warned, they can turn from nice to nasty very fast!

Took one of their biggest chalets complete (28 beds) for a number of years plus a load of last minute chaps trips. Was late paying deposit last time I booked as wife's mum very ill and all of us rather preoccupied. Explained to SS who were totally intransigent and cancelled early booking discount so full price or nothing. That's the way they treated a regular £14,000 per season booker. Obviously never used them again.

A shame because although budget, always had a great time with them but such a strange way to treat a regular customer.

Now use Ski Basics in Meribel who can't do enough to help.

Apologies to the OP for hijacking your thread!
