very simple editing of .wmv file

Hi,


I have a promotional video from my company that needs to be edited to remove the branding, ie cut the first few and last couple of seconds.

The video is a .wmv file. I have windows XP professional tablet edition.

Really struggling!

Any help at all really appreciated!

Windows Movie Maker?

windows movie maker seams to be what most people suggest to my general question of editing .wmv files, however, may be just me being dumb, but i cannot find where to download it. Microsoft website says windows movie maker only works on vista.

It's not called windows movie maker anymore, hence vista only. It's called Live Movie Maker these days, and is part of the Live! Essentials pack.

If your version of Windows doesn't have it, it's a free download (and yes, it's about the best free solution out there)

You're starting a rival company in your spare time?

The proper and best-quality way to do it is go back to the production company that made it - because it's already been compressed, mangled and refangled.
