'Not Suitable For Home Freezing'

Okay, so I went to Morrisons yesterday and bought some kind of 'Carribean Chicken' meal ingredients kit for a fiver. It consists of some fresh chicken, some veg, some rice and a packet of sauce. I get home and merrily put it in the freezer, planning to have it at the weekend. I took it out just now as I was rather hungry and contemplating eating it and to my horror I read 'NOT SUITABLE FOR HOME FREEZING' in little letters on the back. Damn. It looked really tasty as well.

Dare I let it defrost and make it anyway? What can be so unfreezable about any of that? And why don't you write it in bigger letters if it's that important

Is it going to kill me?

This is probably due to the rice. The chicken should be fine.

I'd imagine that the sauce will be the problem, it might have separated. Should be safe, but might not taste great.

Some veg goes all gooey when frozen. Safe to eat but not like it was before you froze it.

Probably because the chicken was previously frozen and in theory shouldn't be re-frozen.

Just cook it thoroughly and I'm sure you'll be fine.

it's the veg. Freeze and defrost and it will be soggier than a fisherman's socks.
