24k service and MOT
Discussion
My car has been through it's 24k service.
Things above the service which I asked to be
fixed were the headlight adjustment, pod LCD fix which
involved sending back to the factory - 5 day turn around from removal
to refitting - and moving the windscreen wipers which rested a little
way up the screen after they had come loose in the past. I had been
blowing the 10amp speed sensor/heated mirror fuse at regular
intervals. I was told this could have been the dodgy pod - but they
also stripped the door down and check for moisture ingress around the
innards. No blown fuses so far. The dealer also
changed my rear pads as they were "crumbling" when they took them
off. This seems reasonable as they were a little low, wore quicker
than the fronts last time anyway, and have been on 3 track days in 12
months.
It passed it's MOT fine. I was told the common failure items are
emissions and headlight adjustment. Apparently the lights go out of
alignment due to the "vibration" and are a quick fix. Just as well I
asked for them to be readjusted then
Car feels good, having the usually extra post service zippiness + the
fluid changes has made the gearbox a little slicker and the brake
pedal a little firmer.
Cheers,
Andy.
