Hi,

A group of us have just returned from France after an enjoyable skiing holiday. We booked with a British based specialist ski tour operator. We booked flights, transfers, accommodation and lift passes with the company.

Unfortunately due to several avalanches the coach that took us back to Geneva was late so we ended up missing the charter flight the tour company had provided.

We were then told that we should "Book our own flights back home, and then claim on OUR travel insurance". Now this didn't seem right to us?

Luckily they were able to find another charter flight back to the UK so we didn't have to book our own flights.

We had a good look on the Internet and as yet have not been able to find a definitive answer. It is our opinion that as we booked a package tour they are responsible for providing what we paid for despite issues with their own suppliers?

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to what should have been done by the tour company?

Thanks

To be honest avalanches sound more like act of of god than the tour operator's liability
