How much pain is involved in getting to the reversing light switch on an S2 V6? My fogs and brake lights are out too, is there a common earth for them? All help appreciated! I've not long had the body shell back on, so I'm hoping I don't need to take the box out to get to the source of this problem! Apart from that, it's nearly MOT time and another S on the road!

Hope someone else out there but me has had this problem!

Before you spend a lot of effort trying to get at the reversing light switch check the wiring to the bulb holders. The problem could be here - it was with mine. Dodgy connectors from the loom to the bulb holders and corrosion on some of the terminals in my case.

Have to agree with all of the above. The rear light clusters are a known problem and usually it's down to the bulb holders and connectors corroding.

Or go the "whole hog"...... clicky

With so many lights not working does sound like problem is in the boot? Five minutes with a meter or test lamp should sort it wink

Cheers guys, the rear light plugs are pretty rubbish! I'm considering soldering on some wires to each spade on the bulb holder side, then using my own connector?? I'll clean them again, but the outlook for them is bleak! I folded myself into 3 and cleaned the brake light switch by the pedal, Brake lights work!! re-crimped a spade on the fog light switch, got fog lights! Then chased the reverse light circuit, the gearbox switch is good, 12v gets as far as that, then it disappears behind the dash! I'll run my own live through to the boot before taking the dash out! Fact.

Racing to MOT standard now!!
