Hi all .. I've just tried using a whole host of websites to try and find out somewhere safe and convenient for parking for friday evening in nottingham. I'm going to cineworld and having paid nottingham's extortionate parking prices for city centre parking before I was hoping to find a park and ride car park or any other suggestions that locals use. The websites for the park and ride, and park and glide are effing useless to naviagte around without an intimate knowledge of nottigham's street names and locations .. how they expect out of towners to find their way around their websites is beyond me. I gave up.
So .. if coming in from north of nottingham what's the best option for parking? Should I just bite the bullet and go city centre or should I go park and ride in which case which one? Where do i get off the bus/tram to be close to cineworld ? I'll be coming in at around tea time and probably leaving around 11pm.
many thanks for any help smile

Hi Alan, I would park in the carpark next to the welbeck hotel. Its open until 12.00, very safe, easy to find when coming into nottingham from J26 of the M1 along the A610.

You've then only got a 5 minute walk to Cineworld in the Cornerhouse

If it was me, I'd avoid ALL park & rides for evening/night parking. All the ones I can think of are in very dodgy areas and the chances of anything nice still being in one piece when you come back to it are slim.
When ever I venture into Notts, usually Rock City which isn't that far from the Cornerhouse I go for 'on street' parking, usually around the 'playhouse' area, it used to be free after 6 but this has recently changed to 8pm, so if you're there before 8 it might be a couple of quid. wink
If you've come of the M1 at J26 this area is really quite straightforward to find and the postcode for the playhouse should take your satnav somewhere close.
