A stupid question but how do you go about composing/creating this? I don't mean from a kit viewpoint as I have the right kit. I just find it difficult to create something so slow that appears to have no pattern or obvious change in what's going on. Any tips for generating ideas?

Erm, I'd argue it does have a pattern and structure but if you only hear an excerpt then perhaps you could draw that conclusion.

As to how to write a particular type of music I don't know, personally I just jam on the keyboard and now and again I get an idea which I can develop into a track that I think could be good.

To my ears, a bit of Ulrich Schnauss mixed with Vector Lovers .... very nice .... I like your sound, been making my own music for over 20 years, starting with analogue synths and reduced to just using Reason now ... I've got a similar objective as you (filmscape) but probably more electro-edged!

Thanks, a few people have said it sounds like Schnauss, TBH I'd not heard of him until recently.

His music is many good so if I'm compared to him that can only be a compliment.

Oh, yes, I'm sure it has a structure but it seems not to because everything is drawn out compared to, say, trance or rock.

I guess I will have to experiment. What sort of BPM do you use?

Really good stuff there.

I've listened to the previews of each of them and I like Sagan and Photosphere the most. I like Sagan as it's very relaxed and atmospheric. It sounds like it could be a great piece of film music in something with a dark feeling. Maybe Spooks or something? Photosphere is excellent, it kicks in at just the right point but very subtly. You know it's coming soon, and it's not a shock to the ears unlike a lot of songs that kick in. The melodies are very nice too. Only thing I would say is maybe bring the snare up a bit in the mix.
