Flat battery now won't start

Tuscan Battery completely died.

Charged it up - as soon as I started charging the indicators started flashing which was stopped by pressing the key fob.

Now its fully charged it won't start at all. It's as if the imobiler is engaged. Turning the key brings up the dash, all the electrics work but turning the key does absolutely nothing even if I press the key fob.

I'm wondering if the flat battery has somehow retuned the alarm?

Sounds like the immob needs a re-set to me. Look in your handbook on the fuse board page, remove the 2 immob related fuses and stick them back in. Not posting on here which they are so if you need to know ask me and I will PM you

Yep, does sound like the alarm is out of sync with the immobiliser.
Had this on the Cerb long ago. Discounted battery for a few minutes, reconnected and all well again! Maybe worth a try.

This will do the same job but the battery is a bugger to get at on a T-car without taking the wheel off!

PS don't know where the battery lives on a Cerb but I bet its more sensible than mine!

I thought the Griff battery position was bad! Oh well, live and learn

You need to disconnect the battery and then after about ten seconds reconnect and press the fob at the same time to reset the immobiliser.

I don't think there's any other way round that.

Took the earth lead off of the battery and reconnected it which seemed to do the trick.

Battery is in a daft place but was able to do it without removing the wheel with not too much trouble.

Thought I'd post on here my experience with battery related problems yesterday.

Was going over to a mates workshop to clean/degrease chassis. Boot filled with jack, axle stands work boots etc. Jumped in the car, cranked engine over and it sort of coughed but wouldn't 'run'. As I continued cranking, the pod alarm came up with low volts (<10V, I think?). Still wouldn't fire and 'low volts' alarm became more insistant....but engine would crank, albeit slowly.

Upshot - after an hour on charge with the 'normal' charger....bingo! fired up.

I think I must have left the boot open overnight!! And my battery is probably past its best.

Or the boot light switch is iffy. Its not unknown to keep getting a flat battery only to eventually find out its the boot light not switching off when closed. I have unplugged mine so this can't happen.

Thanks Andy - I've seen comments regarding the boot light microswitch being 'iffy' previously.
When I came back from my mates, I put the ctek 'on' and even after 48 hours, the indicator/charge level light will hold 'Green' for about 5 secs and then revert to the 'Amber' 1/2 charge indication.

So - starting to look for a new battery.
