Kodak Playsport ZX5 60fps issue

I got a Kodak Playsport which I've been using to shoot at 720p 60fps. I'm using a Macbook to collate/edit the clips but I'm having some issues. If I import directly into iMovie 09, half of the clip is missing (the second half). If I use JES Deinterlacer to convert them to half speed they can then be imported into iMovie 09 but the quality seems to be very degraded (when compared to viewing the movies directly from the camera on the TV using HDMI).

Can anyone suggest a solution (free or otherwise) which will let me work with these clips without losing quality?
