Risking your life in here with GF. He doesn't get much love for his grill.

the key factor to remember with t'george formby grill is it's original and nerfarious purpose of being 'lean, mean and fat reducin' while it has it;s purposes such as geiting dubious bacon crispy or cooking sausages or mass produced cheap burgers rapidly , it's not good for chops or steaks ...

hence the lack of love in here for them

I'd imagine the GF would overcook steak, but to me it looks a good idea for chicken, fish, pork etc. I bet things like peppers, courgettes and asparagus cook beautifully on it.

If I had to equip a small kitchen from scratch I'd certainly consider it. Every student I know seems to have one.

I am a student and everyone in my house uses the GF all the time. Chicken breasts, mackerel, bacon - all cook perfectly well and quickly on it.

Obviously not much fat in the chicken, but the ability to just chuck it on and leave it for five minutes before it's cooked is a dream. Take it out, put it in a little foil parcel whilst you sort out everything else, ten minutes later - juicy, moist chicken breasts!

It is, however, st for sausages and wouldn't even dream of putting a steak on it.
