After watching the 1000km Nurburgring LMES event on MotorsTV on Saturday and them mentioning the next round at Silverstone I though that sounds like a nice trip out then a check on Silverstone's website and it appears it's British GT's the day after
So with the disappointment of missing Le Mans this must be a 'must do' event, and hopefully with a nice B&B instead of a tent
Anyone else planning on going

raceboy,

British GT's should have 2 races on the LMES weekend. It's at 3 day meeting, so free practice and qualifying shouldn't trip each other up.

Im planning on doing the whole race weekend at the LMES at Silverstone with a few mates, so should be a good one, especially looking at the 'ring race at the weekend.

I'll be there too. The plan is to fly in on late Friday and off again on Sunday evening. Should be another cracker.

Anyone have a schedule? The LMES website doesn't yet.

Any idea how much it'll cost as well?

After having to miss a few recent events, I really want to be at this one.

I believe the LMES race is on Saturday evening, 4:00pm 'til 10:00pm, like they did at the 'Ring. I'll definetly be there. Going to Spa in September as well

Also considering this and Spa...do people tend to camp, B&B or just commute in each day?

Me and my dad are staying in a hotel. Wouldn't fancy camping in that region of Belgium in September. I would imagine it's liable to get wet at some point during the weekend

According to Autosport and dailysportscar.com, the British GT races will be open to GT (GTS) class machinery. DAMS will be giving it's Murcielago its debut at the meeting, and Graham Nash are converting their Saleen from ACO spec to FIA spec overnight to run in British GT. Should be a very special meeting

Look like a cracking weekend - a half decent substitute for not going to Le Mans (again!!!).

I called Sillystone on Friday and tried to book a weekend ticket and was told that I couldn't until this week. The girl said to leave it until Wednesday at the earliest.

I asked if the prices and details were correct and the girl didn't but thought that the prices were wrong.

Kind of gave up after that - might try again later this week when I get a chance.

Any idea if they "Silverstone" are going to sting me if I put up a tent inside the track or will that be included in the £20

I belive its £6 per person for the whole weekend.

Apparently they want to make the even a festival atmosphere like Le Mans so hopefully all the various cars clubs etc. will get down there.

Certainly looking to be one of the events of the year, and a bargain to boot!

A 3 day weekend ticket is £18 if you book online, or £20 on the day. That is stupidly cheap for what you get. Makes the GP look like a total rip off

Cos it is!!!

A work mate of mine siad that he was looking at ticket prices and said "around £200 doesn't seem to bad".

It's not really, but it is when you consider these prices, touring cars, etc.

anyway, bit of a tangent there. The real issue is what stunning value these tickets are for some of the most eye watering machinery and best racing on the planet!!

Tickets etc. here:

www.silverstone-circuit.co.uk/book_tickets/book_tickets_F3GT.htm

I am gonna camp and re-create the WHOLE Le Mans thing!

Bought Weekend ticket including camping and delivery for £24.50.....bargain (compared with Pistonfest for example, wonder if Ted will notice this.....)
