Hi all,

A bit of advice if you'd be so good.

My cousin's 30 in a few weeks, and as he lives near Oulton Park I'm planning on getting him an Oulton season ticket as a gift. I have one for Snetterton/Cadwell, but as MSV haven't put any of their 'fixtures' up yet, I just wanted to check that - as with Snett/Cadwell - there's something on most weekends? I've never heard of any noise issues or anything, which I guess could affect things there!

I'm sure it is a full program, I just don't want to get caught out and I don't have time for MSV to get the dates up and still get the ticket in time for his birthday!

I'm pretty sure that its business as usual at Oulton so mostly Saturday meetings (no running before 12 on a sunday) apart from the big stuff (BSB etc)

Mostly Saturday meetings; that's unusual isn't it?!

I know he plays football Saturdays, so if that's the case it may not be worth getting. I'd assumed they'd run Sunday meetings like other tracks!

Oulton has been like that for years, lots of stuff on Saturdays and bank holiday Mondays. There is an agreement with the locals to only have a few sunday race days. The BTCC and BSB are some of the only series to race there on a Sunday. The British GT always has a split weekend on the Saturday and the Monday.

Good variety of stuff as well. I grew up about 8 miles from the circuit so we went to everything possible when I was a kid. These days I still make it back over the Pennines for 6 or 8 meetings a year.

Real shame they're mainly Saturday meetings as it wouldn't be a good present - he either works or plays football on Saturdays so it wouldn't be much use!

I'm glad I asked now, many thanks for the replies smile
