Upgrade rear breakes to disk breks?

Is it possible to upgrade the old drum breaks on the S3 to disk breaks?
Any one tried?

Not sure about disc breakes but disc brakes no problem



Have you tried the advanced search, plenty been written in the past.
Parts required are of Ford origin and were used on S4, Chimaera and Griffith. Keep your eyes on the classifieds, I got my bits from a guy up-grading his Griff to 5 stud hubs and bigger brakes.

I'd have thought shipping a set of brakes from the UK to Sweden would cost quite a lot and not be worth while. I have a set in teh garage and they must easily weigh 20Kgs for discs, hubs, calipers and pads.

People have done it, but I'm not convinced it's necessary with the standard engine. I used to push mine pretty hard for 20 - 30 minutes at a time and the standard brakes held up fine, just with decent fluid in and some slightly harder linings. I wouldn't consider driving anything like that hard on public roads, so I wouldn't expect to run into brake overheating problems with a standard car if the brakes are in good order.

I agree, but saw the parts advertised for a fair price and thought it would be an interesting project, kept me amused for a weekend or two, and they look good

I had mine done using Granada cosworth parts. I have details in a document pm me and I will send on. I got a kit from hans but a ford breaker or eBay could supply.
