Little show reel of some of the clips from 2011! I've not really had that much time this year with a DSLR as most of the show/meets I went to I was still messing about filming with my GoPro. Most of the clips are from the past 5-6 months! Cant wait to shoot more this year..

And where did you find space to vmax the Zed?
Yeah I know "sail" is very over used but it sooo good! lol..What was the video shot with?

All shot with a Nikon D5100 and gopro HD.
Speedo shot of the zed was at ten of the best (TOTB) last year on a standing kilometre run. Will do well over 180mph flat out i would think :-)
Just got the same camera so its good to see some of the high quality footage that can be filmed with it.
Looking at getting a tripod which is good for this kind of filming...any particular ideas or suggestions as what to get/look for?
Also i notice you must be using some sort of glidetrack? The ones i seem to be finding on the internet can upwards of around £250..is this always the case?

OP - what kind of rig did you use? Was it a pro-bought one or did you make one?
I'd probably go with making one, but I'd consider using metal pipe instead of plastic pipe, and also use pipe couplings which go AROUND the slider pipes, rather than just on top - that would add extra security, but I guess wouldn't be as "flexible" as with the design in the video you could easily lift the camera off the track when you wanted to.

Thanks guys, I got my glide track of e bay made by proem for £75! its metal and come with a nice carry case too! Great so far!
Ive build a home made fig rig but not used is yet. I do have a flycam nano to but its soooooooo fiddly to use!

I know it costs money, but to be fair your pro rig looks a LOT better than that $20 effort. I'd try to copy that design if making my own, rather than the white pipe one.
How much did those things cost?
The tripod is a cheap £80 one I have had for years, the slider is off ebay for £75 quid. How much did those things cost?
My DIY fig rig ended up costing me about £20 plus the manfrotto quick release plate! you can get a "spider" ring off Ebay for £49 posted so I may get one of those to ty out! Looks cool!
