Done it myself before a couple of times. Fantastic event but I couldn't stand the pain of funding "cost a packet" steam company to get there any more.
Its a shame they don't offer proper discounts to competitors because a lot of people can't stump up £1K all in to do it these days.

I'm used to the Steam Packet prices as We have been visiting the Island for the TT for the last 11 years, we are booked to travel across for it again this year, but tbh I think I need a break from it as the fire isn't in my belly for the trip this time around....I have no idea why, I'm usually chomping at the bit to get across for the TT.

Anyhow I've watched a few rally stages and enjoy all forms of motorsport, so combine that with my love of the Island and my new found interest in Older cars I think the Manx Classic could be just the ticket.

I guess its reasonable money to go and watch but if you've got a van + trailer and you are going to compete they really do sting in the pocket for that.
The last time I went we bought our own fuel and everyone had to leave it at the dockside in Liverpool because "cost a packet" wouldn't let us on the ferry with the fuel for some stupid reason.
