Does anyone have any experience of this. I'm think of buying an MD Head unit (along with an Indash 5 disc changer which has this as opposed to a removeable Face plate - do they get nicked??? even though there supposedly useless without the Card?

I've got one in my Alfa. Units still there after 3 years. Actually, I don't even bother removing the card.

I've got a BP headunit with keycard - in fact it is my second and they work pretty well. The front drops down and you slide the card in - it wont work with out them and there is a nice warning sticker to indicate this.

However, I must add that I have a Citroen ZX with the adaptor. This means that I have a full size flap that completely covers the stereo so that you would never know it is there - not all cars have the space to have these fitted. As a result I rarely take the card as simply covering it is sufficient.

If you are looking at BP then try this site - really good offers:

Its where I got mine and pretty prompt service. Oh, and typical German engineering - never a problem

Cheers,

Paul

I had a stereo hidden behind a pull down flap, but the scrotes still broke in and nicked it. It's because people don't bother removing their panels / cards that makes it worthwhile.

Since the theft I always take the panel and leave the flap up to show that is has been removed.
