I posted this in TVR section but thought i would ask here too. I have a spectra flair silver T350 and between Christmas and new year will parked in the car some women pulled up in a car next to me, she opened the door of her car only for the wind to catch it and send it crashing in to my passenger door. it has taken two large chips out the door (about the size of a 1p piece), she was apologetics and i got all her details, however i dont know how easy this is going to be repaired. can you just 'blow in' the area or will the whole door need painted?

Is there anyone in scotland that works with spectraflair paint? or am i going to have to send it to surface and design (tvr bodyshop specialist in blackpool). any help would be appreciated.

I think with This kind of paint you are looking at the whole door to be re-painted to get a perfect match again. I Just spoke to a mate about this that works in a body shop.

Any GOOD body shop will be able to work with this kind of paint but GOOD being the key word here. If it is insurance job i would shop around to find the best. I know a very good one down here in Ayrshire but you do pay for it But it shows.

I had a spectraflair T350T a few years ago, I put it down to powers body shop.

The roof was damaged and needed repainted, however as the colour change is decided by the direction the paint is sprayed on there's no way you can just paint one panel without your 'rainbow' effect being a bit wobbly.

Power contacted my insurance for me, told them that due to the factory being closed there was no way they could match the original mix without the batch code so the panel might not match and the insurance co authorised a full respray to return the car to it's previous condition.

Job done, car was like new.

ETA don't put it to any bodyshop, only one with lots of TVR experience!

Retro restorations in aberdeenshire handle all kinds of specialist work like this, along with resoring classincs and building rally cars,

its maybe a bit far from you but, alot closer than blackpool i suppose!

If it is an insurance job i would just get it to surface and design you know for a fact it is in good hands then.

That is exactly what I was worried about, if it wasn't spectraflair I would send it to a good body shop I know in edinburgh. It got to be perfect when it comes back and if that means a full respray so be it.
