I am currently reading 'A Life Too Short' by Ronald Reng, the story of the German goalkeeper Robert Enke, who commited sucicide in 2009.

Its a fantastic read and I am looking for some good suggestions of football books/autobiographies that I should try next...

Looking for something interesting that gives a good insight into the game.

Cheers

Thanks, I will look into these.

Anymore, in particular late 80/90s players.

I'm Not Really Here - A book about Paul Lake's short career at Man City. A wonderful read and a very sad story.

Tony Cascarino's book (Full Time) was regarded a good read when released.

As a Gillingham FC schoolboy he was a hero of mine, so when I was older and with the reviews it was getting, I read it as soon as it was out, and really enjoyed it's honesty, and the way the story was told.

Ironically if I remember correctly it was a challenge with Cascarino that was the beginning of the end for Paul Lake's career (mentioned earlier).

Anecdotaly - my sister married Cascarino's nephew, so I know him personally now as well.........

Yeah Tony Cascarino's challenge caused a ruptured cruciate ligament which was the beginning of the end.
