Based in S Cambs our Company provides advanced automation products and services to improve productivity in life science research, development and production. For over 20 years, it has been the leader in the design and development of advanced automation systems with applications in drug discovery, bioprocess development, biologics production and regenerative medicine.
Our products often start life as complex technology and design study type projects. These projects require significant technical input as new concepts and technologies are investigated and their commercial value established. This role will be focused on delivering these projects - from a technical perspective and a project management perspective.
We are looking for candidates who can offer:
• Experience of technology development and early stage product development
• Experience of managing projects
Key Job Accountabilities
To professionally deliver early stage technology and product development projects delivering thoroughly understood and working technologies and commercially valuable products.
• To conduct reviews and evaluate key technologies, and recommend development strategies.
• To provide a technical lead in the engineering design and development of new technologies and products.
• To carefully define project requirements and scope.
• To determine and manage the resource allocation necessary to execute the project, providing leadership and motivation.
• To work closely with the Product Management function to ensure product developments deliver successfully to market needs.
• To produce and maintain project plans and manage project risks.
• To travel to collaborators sites (world wide) as required to execute the project.
• To be an effective communicator, championing the project internally and externally.
Education/Qualifications/Special Training
Minimum BSc (Hons) 2:1 from an established University in a scientific/numerate/engineering discipline.
Experience
• Technology development.
• Broad multi-disciplined engineering or physics background.
• Sensing systems, optics, electronics, spectroscopy, and signal processing.
• Proven project management experience.
