As the title says really, I am dropping the diff and replacing all the bushes. It would appear much easier if I cut out an inspection hole in the rear of the cabin above the diff and make a removable panel. Good idea or bad?

Is bending & stretching in the boot any easier than laying under the car? It's only ever going to be really accessible when the body off? Once you've got it out and assuming you put a poly bush in its never going to be the same removal problem ever again anyway...

I think it's a good idea, but based on my experience you may want to consider making the cut-out the same width but slightly shorter than I did so that you can remove it without having to first lift or remove the tunnel cover.

Spend - thinking of cutting inside the cabin behinds the seats so it would be much easier to get at but I do take your point - it is only once I need to do it. Darkmatter thanks for the tip and your picture on another thread is very helpfull. I think I will try without cutting and see how I get on. Ian
