I was driving up the A1 on Saturday and on the opposite side of the carriageway I spotted a Delorean!,
I think these cars are so cool, especially when I was with my 14 year old sister and her jaw dropped when she saw one and spluttered "But, but thats a a Back to the Future car!!!" Priceless, anyway this one had, wait for it, neon strips on the underside! and they were turned on! and it wasnt even dark!

Why o why o why!

Are any cars safe...have these people no sense of class...why

There were a couple at the NEC this weekend. One had a nasty dent in the bonnet though

If I want an old Volvo V6 then I will buy a Volvo and not something that weighs more than a Volvo - I mean who thought of that one? and then had the balls to call it a sports car? JHC - what must the fuel economy be on that???

Cheers,

Paul

No Delorean is a convicted drug dealer from the US, they just made them in Ireland (something to do with tax no doubt)

You know there is a gold plated one in a bank foyer in the US. Its not supposed to be there, they just cant start it to move it!.

Delorean was actually acquitted of the drugs charges

Still wasn't it the infamous Arthur Anderson who got him into the shit in the first place????

That maybe true.

I still think they should of made them in Iceland. "By one get on FREE, are we doing a deal or are we doing a deal!"

Her Majesty's Government spent IIRC seventy million of the tax payers' money on a factory in Dunmurry (?) outside Belfast in order to provide employment and the potential for vast export income. It was a somewhat flawed plan and demonstrated the utter futility of letting politicians anywhere near the real world.

Oooh, I saw that one too !! About 8.00pm on Saturday evening heading south.

It was in the inside lane just tootling along, although judging by the comments above it could have been going flat out !!

Must have been more powerful than 130bhp, IIRC they were good for 135mph, 0-60 in 7.5 or so.

The owners were warned never to take them over 88mph! Thats why they are so rare, they are all back in the future - or is that past?

But does that mean if they went back then they would be with us now although slightly older, but then Delorean wouldnt have made then as they would already exist, so getting parts would be a complete nightmare!

From the delorean enthusiasts web page I posted above, they claim it only had 130 BHP, no performance figures though, but it weighed 1233 kg. Only the panels were stainless steel, the chassis was just regular corrosion protected steel...

My Nissan Primera - 130bhp, 1250ish kg, 0-60 in 9.9 & max speed 121mph. One of us is wrong (and it could easily be me!)
