Pictures from The Phoenix, New Years Day
Discussion
Surely that was a rather selective take on the Phoenix? I've been going there for over 20 years and while the VSCC moved on years back there were always a good selection of bikes and cars from pre-war, 50's and 60's in evidence. If that isn't the case, I'm rather glad I wasn't there. I particularly disliked the XJ6 with missing headlights, lowered suspension and bling wheels. When one considers that this was the very place that the VSCC was formed, it doesn't fit in at all.
I was there from maybe 10.15 till 12.30, walked up and down the road twice snapping away, i am a fan of american stuff, as some of my other sets on flickr will show, but am well into classics as well, but i did passenger up in my mates e-type, which is usually the case as i cannot currently afford another car.
as you can see from here, another thread on ph http://www.flickr.com/photos/katynicolson/sets/721... i do think yanks were in the majority, i havent been before so dont know the usual turnout, but i think brooklands had loads of cars and there was also a big meet in bournemouth, again for classic british tin so maybe thats why the yank numbers look higher
not a lot of bikes tbh i would have said 20 or so while i was there
cheers

That's that then - end of my visits to the Phoenix. Sad, but pages turn and I'll be at the Buck at Burley in the New Forest with the XKSS next Jan 1st.
That makes 2 of us Tony
Burley is not too far from me in Devon and the opportunity to see your XKSS would be an added bonus
