am I right in thinking that red onions when cooked don't turn sweet like white onions.
I cooked something the othernight which included white onions, red onions (ran out of white onions) and sweet potatoe and I'm sure the red onions added a bitter taste..... or am I just dreaming ?
I'd guess that because they're a touch milder than yellow / white onions, it's not cooked in as much onion flavour, instead boosting the flavour of something else in there.
