Boiled Egg Soldiers - to toast or not?
Discussion
So, we had a very lazy day today which mainly consisted of a late lunch. Didnt feel like a proper dinner but decided on a snack of boiled egg and soldiers when we got peckish. Now, I haven't had this meal for years, probably since my childhood truth be told. Very nice it was too - but, I'm convinced I was always given buttered bread as soldiers to dip when I was a kid. However, my wife says that soldiers should be toasted. Have I missed out on something all these years? Have my parents let me down?
So do you definitely toast, or should soldiers just be bread and butter?

Traditionally toast, every time.
But...
A little part of me likes when you put a warm boiled egg in a slice of well buttered bread, and the warmth makes the butter melt into the bread, and the soft bread takes a little of the yolk in as well.
This makes me want a slice of bread and a slice of toast each cut into soldiers next time.
