Smart engine swap!!!
Discussion
If you ever have an engine blow up on a smart car and the Smart garage quotes you the cost of the engine and SIX HUNDRED POUNDS to do the swap..........bite their Bloody hands off!!
It's a bitch of a job and then when you've finished, the thing won't start because unbeknown to all normal mechanics the Crank sensor is not on the flywheel as are most cars but is on the clutch housing, this clutch housing can be fitted in three ways on its mountings...guess who got it the wrong way round
By the time I'd paid our fleet mechanic for helping me for two days, the hire car, and Smart Birmingham two and a half hours to re-align the clutch I had saved the Grand Total of £30 and taken two days of my time.
Still it's a good laugh eh.....

I think you may be able to swap a smart for an engine......... but don't expect to get a powerful one...
