The Government's ten year transport plan will spend 180bn on our knackered infastructure. Not much over ten years really, considering they wasted 603m on the dome in a year!! Nice to see this government has it's priorities in order. Stop spunking money on shite like this and dhs scroates, and sort it out!

I moved away in 98, came back in 2001 couldnt believe how much things had changed.

However, if they ditch sterling I'm going and never coming back.

I moved away when the last labour scumbags were in power (fat pipe smoking obnoxious lying murdering twat called wilson)(yes murdering as his Pinko decisions caused deaths in my unit in Aden!) and I've not looked back apart from pies, brown sauce Branston, chutney; which always gets loaded in tonnes when I visit!

woohoo, another "lets leave the country" thread.

To all those who have managed to get away, how did you manage it. I only ask for future reference. I may be moving down sarf to live and work next year when (if!) I graduate. I'll be tied to a three year contract but would love to leave after that expires.

So how did you manage it? Do you work for British companies abroad or did you manage to find work with foriegn companies to enable you to live/work there?
Any details would be most helpful

Cheers
Andy

Andy,

I now live in England in summer and winter and Western Highlands of Scotland in spring and autumn - property up here is p*ss cheap, the roads are empty, the air clean, the scenery stunning and the people friendly.

90% of my job is done on a 'puter, so it matters not where I am. I've met a few people in the IT / creative / design industries that now live up here... satellite ADSL (next year) will bring more up.

Best tip... avoid having kids and get dogs instead. !!

To me, it doesn't matter how shit this country is, I don't think I could ever bring myself to leave, and if I do stay with my current GF for the forseable future, It would be impossible to persuade her to leave as well!!

The country would have to get really bad before I upped and left!

get a job with a known firm abroad, get your experience of the country, then make your move. Look for a niche product/process/job and then do it. You'll find that mentalities differ and if you can bridge the gap and make something of that bridging then do it.
If you're thinking of going to safr be prepared to pur up with a lot of sh*t nowadays, reverse racism etc. e.g. You can expect to be put at the bottom of the list when up against an illiterate black (not me, that's my friends in SA speaking!)
