After a filling meal yesterday and large bacon roll filled with finest Suffolk smoked back for brunch we had a little walk to feed the ducks.

On returning the fiancée put the finishing touches to my supper whilst I got the fire going and let the 2006 Lussac Saint-Emilion breath.

Fire roaring in the grate, half a glass into the bottle and my supper arrived

A traditional game pie containing venison, pheasant, duck, belly pork, bacon, and sausagemeat, all packed down into a hot water pastry containing half a pound of lard. the whole thing must weigh about 5 pounds. Not sure I'll be able to finish it in one sitting smile
