Accumate question

Hi All, and I hope you all had a great Xmas
I was very kindly bought an Accumate charger for Xmas - this one ; http://www.accumate.co.uk/accumate.htm
But having read through the instructions, it's all geared towards charging flat batteries and the amount of time to charge from dead.
Is this the same accumate charger that I can crocodile clip onto the battery of my Chimaera and leave plugged in / turned on over the winter to stop it going flat at keep the battery conditioned ??
I was sure it was, but there's nothing in the supplied litterature about leaving it plugged in beyond the listed charge times ?
Any help or advice would be great appreciated

I have one of these, used it for the last 3 years, and no problems.
They also sell a ciggy lighter adapter, which is a rather convenient way to connect up.

It's on charge now, and lucky as it was almost too flat to open the central locking
I've always found that my battery last less time in the colder weather.
Maybe it's co-incidence, but two to three weeks no use in the summer and it's no probs, but the same stretch in the winter and it's struggling

Cigerette lighter adapter seems like the way forward I think
Certainly would saving lying upside down in the footwell trying to see in the dark and access battery terminals

Have fitted an additional socket in the boot, mainly due to my Accumate sitting at the back of the garage, saves getting scratches down the side of the car from the cable, also convenient for the cool box too

I always use the "Leven" socket fitted in the engine compartment.

How old is the battery? May be a sign that the condition isn't as good as it once was.

I bought me chimaera in 2003...an accumate came with it...as I acquired more toys the accumate got shared out between them...Adrian Venn fitted a cigar lighter socket to it he said it would be a good idea and it was...the chimaera still runs on the battery the car came with (probably tempting fate there!)....

I saw a second hand accunate on ebay a couple of months back and snapped it up...so I now have two...they are worth their weight in gold..

I like the idea of fitting a socket in the boot...fitted one in the chimaera centre console in front of the window switches...handy for charging via the accumate...and to plug sat nav's in..
