cracked neck during incline bench, should i worry?
Discussion
1st day back at gym since last Thursday and maybe I was rushing too much to do a proper warm up and during my 2nd set of medium weight incline dumbell presses I heard a crack from my neck and now it aches when I move it.
I stopped exercising immediately to try and limit any damage.
Is this common or just my own stupidity ?

Incline DB lifts will target your Traps amongst other muscles and these are involved in neck movements as well as elevating your shoulders - same muscle, different motor units. The incline has certainly hit a large part of your Traps and may have affected anything right up to your Atlas bone at the top of your neck where your Traps insert.
Now you know why you should always warm-up and/or perform mobility exercises before your main weight set! Warm-up is an rse, but you do it for a reason.
Rest. Start training light when the stiffness has gone. If the stiffness (if stiffness is all it is!) doesn't go in a few days, see a doc.
