Hi,

First post so go easy on me! hehe

For the past 2 weeks, I've been experiencing a REALLY bad ringing noise in my right ear right up to a point where i can't literally hear ANYTHING and it's really frustrating.

The doctor said i have some 'redness' in my ear and prescribed some ear drops which has actually made it worse. My question is, has anyone experienced this? And is there anything else i can use like an 'over the counter' ear spray or something? :S

Thanks.

I have something similar but in both ears. I get it mainly after waking up. The Doctor said, after a long duration of time (think a year) that it may be Minieres disease.

Why on earth would you post in a car forum?

In any case, if it persists, you will need to see an ear specialist.

In the meantime, cut out alcohol, coffee, chocolate and salt, drink lots of water and get more sleep. Tinnitus is often made worse by eating the above plus not getting enough sleep and being too stressed.

Alternatively, be an obstinate git (like someone I know) and enjoy life but it may develop into much worse - dizziness and vomiting - which increases the chance of you being diagnosed with Meniere's and not being allowed to drive (ie having licence taken away).

I get it gently in both ears, but only sometimes. It seems to be stress related for me but, as far as I have read, the medical profession don't really have a clue about what causes it.

You may have to experiment a bit.
