Galant VR4 - What to look for?
Discussion
Evening all
Not sure if this is the right place to be posting this so if not I apologise!
I'm going to see a Mitsubishi Galant VR4 estate soon as an upgrade in power/space over my rallye so I was interested to know what experiences people have had with them and if there are any common faults or places prone to rust that I should be looking for? I've heard that the tappets are often noisy and that fuel consumption is horrendous, but is there anything is to think about?
Any comments welcome and thanks in advance!

If its on the Tein suspension check its not all rattly & bouncy, new shocks only if it is.
Check the engine rattles are not the start of a bottom end failure, these suffer oil pump failures.
They have the same yaw control system as the evo's & they should be serviced frequently.
I've never seen a rusty import
Apart from that stonking cars if somewhat juicy
