How many units a week do you drink??
Discussion
I have been wondering how many units of alcohol people drink a week as it's getting abit scary how much I drink these days
I have the nhs unit tracker app for my iPhone and count every unit. A normal week is anywhere between 35 and 75 units and the recommended units a week for a man is roughly 28.
Does anyone else count or even have a rough idea??

I get through about six or seven bottles of 12% wine a week.
No idea what that is innannying units.
A bottle of wine is about 9 units...No idea what that is in
A friend's dad used to be a Head Brewer for Adnams, and he maintained that the 'safe units' the Govt came up with are a load of boll*cks.
When I moved, and registered with the local GP, I had to go in for a 'health check'. 'How much do you drink?' asked the nurse. 'A can of beer after work, and a glass of wine with dinner, may be a bit more at the weekend', I replied. 'Well, drinks poured at home are larger than pub measures, so that's 2 units for the beer, and at least 2 for the wine, so 28 units per week, plus the weekend. You need to think about cutting down.' WTF!!!???
As for my honest personal consumption, it probably comes in somewhere around 40 units per week, 50+ if I'm thirsty...

I was intitially taught the old units - and then these new 'units' were introduced.A friend's dad used to be a Head Brewer for Adnams, and he maintained that the 'safe units' the Govt came up with are a load of boll*cks.

I think they are completely rubbish too.
I don't drink during the week, and I don't even drink every weekend.
However, when I do drink at the weekend, I'd say over the course of the Fri and Sat night, I'll probably have 5 pints and maybe 7 or 8 measures of spirits. Sometimes a little more, sometimes quite a bit less.
Edit: Just had a look on drinkaware.co.uk - 19 units, apparently that makes me "Higher Risk"
So if I'm higher risk, wtf does that make most of you lot?!
