Name this exercise (obliques training)
Discussion
Ok here's the description. I saw it once on YouTube and just cannot remember what it's called. What I thought it is called is Iron Cross but that brings up a different exercise.
So, take one hot blond woman in tight lycra with a distinctly European accent. Imagine her lying on the floor, her arms out to the sides, legs straight and together so she is making a capital "T". Her legs are then lifted vertical and straight so they are above her hips. That is the starting position. Then she slowly lowers the legs (still straight) to the left, not touching the ground, then up to the start position. Then to the right, then return to the start. That's one rep. All the time breathing heavily.
What's this exercise called? What can I search for in YouTube?

I thought windscreen wipers was ONLY done hanging. The thing is - is that an exercise that trains or just something you can do once you've trained? IYSWIM.
You can do it to develop obliques.Very good for core work, especially v.2,below.All of these movements are advanced.Progressions:
1. Lying on floor, make sure knees are together, touch either side of body with legs at 90 degrees to body, like in LG's link.
2. As above, holding barbell in chest press position arms locked. This is quite hard.
3. As above plus weight between feet.
4. Hanging.

This is the way I do them.
That isn't the same thing. I have done those in the past, though. This is the way I do them.
Can either of you explain the point of holding the bar bell apart from to make it harder? I mean, I could make it harder by watching Dumb and Dumber and trying not to laugh. Or paying an escort to dance beside me.
