Nope not a simple swap I know because I did a load of research 2/3 years ago to try to have them re-manufactured in china or india. In the end I worked with TVR Car Parts (who had new un finished bases and caps) got them finished off, polished and plated (to a very high standard) and then TVR Car Parts put them on the market. Pretty damn sure they will still have some available if the deal with ketvrin dosent work out (kevin will be cheaper I guess)Norman

The S cap appears to be held in by some sort of flange and four screws, positively locating it and sealing to the bodywork. On the M series and Taimar (which do look identical to the one you've found) the cap is held in by nothing more than a grommet through the bodywork and the hose clip around the filler pipe. Also, the S one is "oval" in shape while this one is a kind of "rounded off diamond" shape. A quick measure and it looks like it would fit the indent in the bodywork but wouldn't of course fit nicely like the original.

I don't know if it will fit I'm afraid... What attracts you to it? Is yours knackered ot are you looking at the security a lock will give you.
I have a nice clean orignal cap (just the flap) that I could sell you for a lot less...
Pm me if you are interested...

I still have the original which I was going to get re-chromed, I was just looking for a cheaper alternative.
Looks like I'll need to get the drivers door handle redone anyway.
Cheers

Both the fuel filler and door handle are made of Marzak, a zinc alloy, which has the strength etc of cheese. Its a complete baI still have the original which I was going to get re-chromed, I was just looking for a cheaper alternative.

rd to re-chrome as it will have 'blow' holes where you see pimples, a lifetime ago my Dad was an elcetroplater by trade and would not even put one in his vats. Always said it will only last days. Your best bet is either good condition second hand (the handles are capri) or a new cap from TVR Car PartsGassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
