I've heard a few people talk about this place, and I'm quite intrigued.

Anyone been? Comments?

Its ok at best.

The novelty factor was it's main draw for me.

It must be about 8 years since i last ate there, and im in no major rush to go back.

There are far better places to eat nearby.

Edited to add - Im talking about the Glasgow one

I was there for my stagger earlier in the year (At the place in Edinburgh).

Was well impressed, great laugh, something different and I got to eat Zebra and Springbok.

I'd reccommend it.

I thought it was ever-so-slightly above average food at quite ridiculous prices.

Enjoyed the crocodile meat, though smile

Edinlushes have been to the Edinburgh one a few times - I like it. It's fun playing about with the sauces and spices.

As for the cost - for a meal for 2 it's not hugely competitive, but there are usually offers around and often give discounts for parties.

Plus it's all you can eat. There's no limit to the number of times you go back up for more.

Admittedly, the people who have raved about it to me, generally wouldn't know decent food if it jumped up and lamped them hehe

I do fancy the notion of the various meats on offer, and the chance to experiment with the spices / sauces.

Might give it a bash then smile

I couldn't be arsed with it. Yes you do get meats that you normally wouldn't see but the whole make your own spices thing pissed me right off. I'd rather have someone who knows what they're doing deciding what to put on the meat.
The next step is cooking it yourself and paying someone else for it.

Pish!

Went once to merchant city, food was terrible. over cooked and just really a bit of a gimmick never going back

For what you spent on the meal you'd be better going to guys next door for some excellent food.

Similar night oot for me, novelty but totally gash! There's a reason we tend to eat beef- the rest are all nasty and tough!

Quite enjoyed it for lunch a while back - Boar I think.
Although afraid to admit it in case I don't sound like a PH food critic biggrin

Been there a couple of times. Pretty cool. Ok food.

Bit like Teppanyaki, it's more about the show and spectacle than the food itself.

I like it. Yeah, it's not fine dining, not the same crowd as you'd get in likes of The Witchery but frankly I think anyone expecting Tom Kitchin-style stuff is just being daft and maybe a little snobbish.

It's good fun for a night out, nothing more, nothing less.
