When is a brake disc too rusty
Discussion
I've got a set of 291mm discs on the front of my Tuscan and their inside edge is rusty. I've cleaned them up and I'm hopeful of being able to skim them as they are very expensive to replace. There is hardly any lip on the discs to indicate significant disc wear and the car has don 24k.
Has anyone had any experience of doing this? Has anyone enquired about the new RG discs prices?

Just had mine skimmed and they came up a treat, however you might want to consider upgrading to the later larger and cross drilled 322mm discs? They're a straight swap with the spacer added to the caliper mount and bizarrely they're cheaper than the old 291mm discs.
Wish i knew this a few months ago
Where can you get the spacer or do you know what size it is?
The usual TVR parts suppliers sell the spacers and they cost about 20 quid for the pair.
With regards the calipers, if they have "TVR" cast into the face of them then you're good to go for the larger discs. The ones with "AP Racing" cast into the face I'm not sure, however it's worth noting that the ones with "TVR" cast into them still have "AP Racing" cast on the inner face of the caliper. I don't know if there's any differences other than that.
Your local friendly TVR parts supplier and specialist will be able to confirm.

Does anyone supply off the shelf spacers to swap from 291 discs to 322? I've seen them on Power's site to swap from 304 discs but ended up making my own 16mm ones.
I see RG are doing cross drilled 291mm AP discs for 160 quid each and their own spec 322s for 140 quid. Not sure who makes their discs?
