painful shoulder

On Sunday I went over the handle bars of my bike, I felt alright at the time just a little winded. landed on my right shoulder and head. I woke this morning with a very stiff shoulder and it's very uncomfortable if I rase it above my head. Now im sure, im ok, just gave it a little smack. Is their anything I can do to make it more comfortable?

It might be something like a snapped tendon... which won't show up on an X-ray... Just get to A&E anyway, and keep within the system since that way they'll be obliged to get it sorted out if it turns out to be more than the 'sprain' you'll be fobbed off with.You do not want to be in the back of the queue under the NHS for a snapped tendon repair, believe me: two years gone... still no sign of an op to fix mine in my left hand.
If I hadn't believed what the Drs said and discharged myself from the A&E protocol for a broken scaphoid (since no X-ray would confirm it and it 'seemed' to be getting better) at the original injury, I wouldn't be in the mess I'm in now.
My left hand is clearly fvuked: The tendon in my thumb is snapped, but since I can't afford a private operation, no chance of getting the thing done in the short term. I can only hope it doesn't affect my long-term mobility.
