Headset replacement - campag

Hi everyone,

I'm changing the headset on my bike from an FSA Orbit Carbon:

to a campagnolo record headset. Trouble is, I don't know which one I need.

Do either of these look like they would be correct:

If not, is there one in the campagnolo record range that is a direct swap?

I'm no expert, but this http://www.wiggle.co.uk/campagnolo-record-hidden-1... one has a stack height of ~6mm whereas your FSA and the other Campag one are ~16mm... I can only think that you need to stick with the same height.

Thanks. Upon further inspection, I think that they may both be compatible but the deeper looking campagnolo replacement simly stacks up to the same height as the original.

That is to say the one you just linked above will mean the bars sit 1cm lower. I might just wait for someone to confirm before I order though!

Both the Campag headsets you linked to are the same, just one has a tall top cap (hence the TTC) in the model name.

I believe the Campag is 45x45 bearing angle whereas yours is 36x45 . From Park Tools site:

The "IS" system is considered the most common. The name Integrated System is not a registered trade name. The system uses the 45-degree bearing contact in the frame. The bearings for the 1-1/8 inch steering columns use a 41mm outside diameter with a 45-degree bearing contact in the frame. The bearing may be marked "36-45". The first number refers to the inside bearing contact with the headset race or centering cone. The second number refers to the frame contact.

So because yours is 36x45, it will fit your frame but you will need to use your existing crown race and compression ring.
