McLaren will race their new MP4-19B car for the first time at this weekend's French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours.
The team have endured a poor season so far but are hoping the new car will see them challenging for podium places.

Driver David Coulthard said: "It is a positive move and I am looking forward to seeing how it goes this weekend.

Fellow McLaren star Kimi Raikkonen said: "It has run well in testing and I hope it will be as reliable in the race at Magny-Cours."

unless they fix that unreliable and underpowered merc, all the chassis and aero work will be for naught, surely?

I think there is a new engine (or at least a big step on the existing one) to go with the new car. I've also heard that the packaging of the engine in the original car wasn't exactly helping reliablity...

I don't really understand why they've waited this long to introduce the B spec car, they might as well have taken it to the North American races too. The old car was slow and unreliable, so its not like they had anything to lose.

Hopefully the new car will let them fight with the best of the Michelin runners but I can't see them getting anywhere near Ferrari.

I really, really want McLaren to do well, they have had two shite cars (or is it three and a b spec I never remember), I would however like to see Kimi given something worthy of his talent and Couthard something he cannot make excuses about, after all on a good day with the right car they should be a pretty formidable team.

Good luck to them.

Wouldn't be to hopeful on them getting a podium this weekend. More like 6th or 7th. Also BAR and Ferrari usually take the top spots.

You don't need a crystal ball to work that one out.
