You’ve heard of palm reading, now what about ‘car reading’?

Is it possible to tell who drives what car without knowing anything about the driver? Some people read tea-leaves or crystal balls, but at Confused.com we reckon we could read car makes and models based on our knowledge and fuelled by our passion for driving.
We’re not psychic, but our customer experience indicates who is more likely to drive which sort of vehicle. Take a look at our findings to see if your car is popular with similar drivers, or will you discover that you buck the trend when you’re behind the wheel?
Iconic Austin Minis are more likely to be driven by a student, but under 25s (who are not students) are more likely to choose a Ford Fiesta Zetec.
Meanwhile, a sporty BMW Z4 is more likely than average to belong to 25-39 year olds who don’t have any kids yet and the Renault Grand is more likely to belong to young families; probably because it offers plenty of space for both the family and their luggage.
Among male drivers the racy Caterham Seven and Porsche 928 are significantly more likely to belong to a male driver while the VW Beetle Solar Cabriolet and Fiat 500 Pop Cabriolet are both most likely to be driven by a woman.
Cars statistically more likely to be driven by a man*:
1. CATERHAM SEVEN
2. PORSCHE 928
3. CATERHAM SUPER
4. FERRARI 599 F1 GTB FIORANO
5. NISSAN GT-R PREMIUM EDITION
6. LANDROVER 88
7. BENTLEY ARNAGE
8. VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT CCGT BLUE MOTIONT DI (140)
9. JAGUAR XJR8
10. TVR CERBERA
Cars statistically more likely to be driven by a woman*:
1. VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE SOLAR CABRIOLET
2. FIAT 500 POP CABRIOLET
3. MINI ONE CABRIOLET(98)
4. FORD STREET KA
5. MERCEDES A170 CLASSIC SE
6. PEUGEOT 207 GT VTI CC(120)
7. FORD KA STYLE+
8. PEUGEOT 207 SPORT VTI CC (120)
9. FORD KA STYLE
10. FORD KA ZETEC
Gareth Kloet, Head of Confused.com Car Insurance, comments:
“We like to understand our customers and their needs and we know that not all drivers and customers are the same, but it’s interesting to see which cars are favoured by different demographics and how that changes through life stages. Your gender, age and marital status can all affect your car insurance quote as well as which sort of car you choose, although it won’t be long before gender rules change and women will no longer see cheaper quotes than their male counterparts.”

ks anyway . Porsche 928 ? When was the last time you saw ANYONE driving one of those ?
Although they did produce a cheeky low-volume manual Called the 928 GT which I did consider....
Definite candidate for most likely to be found rotting in a farmyard these days, previously run as a Romford publican's high days mota
Good car mind. Just big. And complicated. And thirsty. Very thirsty.

I think thats what skews the stat even more.. Just say there was only one 928 ever produced and it was owned by a bloke.. Therefore statistiacally a Porsche 928 would be more likely to be owned by a man than a woman!
ks anyway . Porsche 928 ? When was the last time you saw ANYONE driving one of those ?Gotta love stats and how you can manipulate them!
